A diet like that would reek havoc on your body, so we stay away from them, or at least our wives hide the sugar. Sugar is as a bad as cocain. It is very addictive, and once you start down that path it can lead to all kinds of physical problems.
“You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” Hebrews 5:12b-14.
Churches are full of “Cereal Killers.” They can be millennials or boomers, they belong to every generation. Though the young generation hasn’t matured out of this stage, so we can give them more slack than earlier generations. Yet, no one is without excuse. If you have grown up in the church and tasted of the good grace of God, you could be a teenager and are ready to move on to meat.
Cereal killers are people who complain, never satisfied, rarely get involved, expect others to do the work, and then complain. Cereal killers tend to be church hopers, because nothing satisfies them, their sugar rush dissipates. Cereal killers say they want genuineness, honesty, and openness, unless you ask them to share. They want a lot of programs but don’t ask them to be involved. I used to be a cereal killer.
Feeding on milk is when you are making your faith your own. You’re wrestling with the issues of life and come to genuine faith. Meat eaters are grown up, their faith is no longer their own. They see their lives as an extension of God’s mission and look for ways to share the gospel. I used to be a cereal killer, but I have been transformed. Now I look for ways to train others to be meat eaters, so that together we can impact the world.
Which are you? I’m just saying…
